Greg attended Olivet Nazarene University (then Olivet Nazarene College) from 1975 to 1979, graduating with a BS degree in Engineering Physics. He attended the University of Illinois – UC from 1979 to 1981, receiving his MS degree in General Engineering, with an emphasis in Business to IS liaison work.
Greg worked at Union Carbide, in Charleston WV, from 1981 to 1985 primarily developing the Plant Construction Design and Planning software used by UCC. It is there that he acquired a taste for end-user system design, especially on the remote PCs in the Gulf Coast Plants. Greg moved to CompuServe in Columbus Ohio, where he worked from 1985 to 1996. During this time he gained an interest in real-time, multi-company, cooperative consumer products (Newspaper archives, Travel Reservation Systems, etc.) and was fortunate to be granted several patents on the subject. Escaping the AOL take-over of CS in 1996, Greg had his first stint at BMW FS, where he helped develop the infant versions of the BMW InfoBahn (Dealer Information System). Greg was lured back to the consumer-facing arena he had grown to love by Huntington Bank in 1997, and worked there until 1999. This gave him some unique opportunity to work in the nascent web banking arena. With BMW FS getting into Web Banking and other self-service in 1999, Greg returned to the home of the free car, and has been very happy extending his life-long association with consumer systems. Most recently, he has been made the head of IT Strategy for BMW FS in the Americas region.
Greg is unusually active in the Worthington Political arena, enjoys golf, has been married to the his lovely wife, Mary, for 28 years, has two sons, who are 17 and 19, and is now flabbergasted to have a 23 year old daughter who is an elementary school teacher.
